2016 – FERRARI F488 GTB
Ferrari revealed last year the F458 Italia substitute. The F488 GTB is an evolution of the ‘popular’ Maranello brand model and brings the turbo for the first time to a central V8 engine of a Ferrari supercar. The official presentation of the model was at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015. After the California T, the F488 GTB is the second model to adopt turbo technology, but Ferrari claims that the supercar engine is completely new. Production started last year, shortly after the farewell of the F458 Italia assembly lines. Ferrari’s new 3.9-liter V8 engine equipped with the F488 GTB has a power output of 670 hp and 760 Nm of torque, which represents a significant increase in power compared to the F458 Italia and the F458 Speciale. Combined with an upgraded seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the F488 GTB reaches 100 km / h in 3 seconds, 200 km / h in 8.4 seconds and a top speed of 330 km / h.
Ferrari says the new model will have an average consumption of 8.8 km / l, with CO2 emissions of 260 g / km. The F488 GTB has already made its way through the Fiorano circuit and completed a lap in 1 minute and 23 seconds, which is two seconds faster than the F458 Italia and half a second faster than the F458 Speciale. The engine is responsible for the suffix ‘488’ in the name of the new model, this is because each of its cylinders has rounded 488 cc. The suffix GTB that was already a habitual presence in the names of the vehicles of the Ferrari means Gran Turismo Berlinetta. Ferrari claims that it incorporated into the F488 GTB, knowledge acquired in the XX program, in order to allow all drivers to take full advantage of the vehicle’s electronic and control systems. The Italian brand adds that the car has comparable responses to a racing car. At 4568 mm in length, 1,952 mm in width and 1,213 mm in height, the F488 GTB has dimensions very similar to those of the F458 Italia. The new model has a weight of 1,370 kg.

2016 – FERRARI F488 GTB ALPHA-N PERFORMANCE
The Ferrari F488 GTB is much more than a simple restyling of the F458 Italia, it is the first vehicle of the mark of Maranello equipped with a V8 biturbo engine in position central-rear since that manufactured the legendary Ferrari F40.
One of the first coaches to show what can be done with the new 3.9-liter V8 engine was Alpha-N Performance with its program for the Ferrari F488 GTB. With the ‘EVOX’ package, which costs approximately 2,999 euros and includes a new electronic engine management, they can increase the power and torque of the original 670 hp and 760 Nm to no less than 790 hp and 860 Nm. That is, they get an additional 120 hp of power and 100 Nm of torque with a simple ECU reprogramming. The Alpha-N Performance F488 GTB thus becomes a tremendously powerful vehicle, even more so than the brutal Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV or until the brand’s latest limited-edition supercar, the Ferrari F12tdf, which features a V12 engine capable of generating 780 horsepower. The performance of the Ferrari F488 GTB with the ‘EVOX’ package has not been reported but will certainly be even faster than the production model, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3 seconds and from 0 to 200 km / h in only 8.3 seconds.
2016 – FERRARI F488 GTB BY NOVITEC ROSSO
Novitec Rosso, German coach who develops programs for supercars, presented his project for the Ferrari F488 GTB. In order to optimize the performance of the successor of the F458 Italia, its specialists carried out a whole work involving the engine and the chassis, as well as the bodywork with some elements to relieve some of its total weight. The Ferrari F488 GTB comes standard with a V8 engine in rear center position and supercharged by two turbos, being able to develop 680 horsepower maximum and get 760 Nm of torque. Thanks to the remapping of the ECU, the Italian sports car develops 780 hp and 892 Nm, including above the F12 Berlinetta, also prepared by Novitec Rosso. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is fulfilled in 2.8 seconds, only two tenths faster than the series model. To achieve this small difference in the timer, the Novitec Rosso also included a more elaborate exhaust system, as well as a faster gearshift and better throttle response. It also has a hydraulic suspension that reduces the body height by 40 mm while maintaining adaptive damping and also 21-inch alloy wheels (optional 22 inches) by fitting tires in the dimensions of 255/30 ZR in the front and 325/25 ZR on the back. The preparer did not divulge images of the interior of the Ferrari, but promises a wide range of inserts of carbon fiber to the taste of the client.

Following the exterior of the F488 GTB, on its side, in addition to the five-spoke wheels, were incorporated skirts inspired by those used by the Ferrari F458 Speciale. Finally, in the rear was added a small lip spoiler, a prominent airfoil and a new diffuser. Optionally, the preparer allows to equip a customized exhaust system. In mechanical terms, possibly, there are no novelties. The preparer has not revealed details about it, so even with the new custom exhaust system offered, the 3.9-liter two-turbo V8 engine that hides under the skin of the Ferrari F488 GTB, still counts with 670 hp and 760 Nm of torque maximum. Thanks to this engine, the Ferrari F488 GTB can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km / h. However, taking into account the radical body kit and the obvious changes in aerodynamic performance, it is possible that the previous numbers can be changed.
